My girlfriend is a Pittsburgh Steeler fan. When the games come on at the same time we take turns watching our team, and this week she gets to choose. Anyway, as I said in my last video, my hosting servers crashed. I changed hosting companies yesterday. I did get my site back up. My friend Wes Wyatt helped me out getting it set up. He got it to come up, and I could not at my house. I tried everything. I cleared my cached, history, and cookies. When I try to bring my website up I would still get an error message DNS server error. Somebody told me on Facebook. That it usually takes about 24 hours for your DNS to replicate over. I couldnt understand why Wes could get on my website, but I couldnt. So I decided to ride to the Mexican restaurant here in town. They have high speed internet service there. I had no problem getting to my website there. I worked for 3 hours trying to get it back to where it used to be. I only got 3 blogs posted. I did get my theme back. I got a couple of banners back on there, but that is it. We are getting ready to go back to the restaurant today. I will try to get some more of my blogs back on there. I had my site hosted by this particular company. Yesterday, I went to post my blog, and I couldnt get my website to come up. I contacted the hosting company. They told me that their servers crashed. They also told me to change my nameservers to another server. I change my nameservers, and my website never came up. I found out later that ALL their servers had crashed. They had no backup. I lost EVERYTHING. I did not back up my site either, which is bad on my part. I just took it for granted that the hosting company would have everything backed up for me. Well I hope all of you learn one thing from my mistake that you need to back up your websites. I dont want anybody to go through this. I changed hosting companies, and I am trying to get everything back up on my website. I have to do it all manually, one by one. It will take a while, but I am going to do whatever it takes to try to save my Alexa and Page ranking. I want to say that when my website is up, I am going to do a blog on the research I did on hosting companies. You dont want your website hosted by just anybody. You post on Facebook that you just updated your blog. Someone clicks on it. When they post a comment on your blog, it is posted on their Facebook page, as well. If they came from Twitter the comment system works the same. Can you see how powerful that is? People will see their comments and go check out your blog for themselves. That gets you more traffic to your site, and it is a good way to get self-syndication. The next plug-in is WP Greet Box. It is only a box at the top of your blog that greets people depending where they came from. It may say dont forget to follow me on Twitter, or make sure you sign up for my RSS feed.
